Learn to Fly in the Beautiful Treasure Valley of Idaho
With our aircraft based in Idaho
we have the best of all worlds. Nearby Nampa is a medium size
airport without a control tower, with a gorgeous 5,000’ by 75’
runway. The runway includes pilot controlled lighting, a VASI and 3
instrument approaches, Nearby Caldwell has more of the same. Idaho’s
Treasure Valley does get a little snow from time to time, but Nampa
and Caldwell are true four season airports with brisk winter
operations in the cool winter air.
For further training options
Boise class “C” is only 15 miles east with a full service ILS and
two 9,000 foot runways. Numerous Instrument approaches and friendly
Air Traffic Controllers make IFR training very unintimidating. This
location gives APA students a real feel of the big and small
airports.
We also are only minutes by air
to some of the most spectacular mountain airports in the world. On
your cross country training you will visit destinations like McCall,
Idaho for breakfast with its 6,000’ paved runway nestled within the
mountain village with an elevation of 5,021’ msl. Some students
return to McCall on their Solo Cross Country. Enhancing their skill
set to include the mountain environment of the west. These flights
are sure to live long in the memories of our new pilots.
